Kaisetsu:
defend from jodan zuki
Move:
3
Technique:
chudan zuki
Tachikata:
shomen neko ashi dachi

Technique:
jodan soto uke
Tachikata:
like move 2
Objective:
the defense
Note:
timing and positioning is essential here to do a correct defense.
Kaisetsu:
defend jodan zuki
Move:
9
Technique:
juji uke
Tachikata:
zenkutsu dachi
Objective:
entering ma-ai, inasu
Note:
it is not a defense with 2 arms. in kata two sides must be practised, so do both arms in 1 movement. practically both arms should have different functions
Kaisetsu:
defend maegeri using juji uke
Move:
10
Technique:
jodan juji uke
Tachikata:
zenkutsu dachi don't move
Objective:
quickly change hands
Note:
take care not to rise
Kaisetsu:
defend jodan zuki
Move:
11
Technique:
morote chudan otoshi ude uke
Tachikata:
zenkutsu dachi don't move
Objective:
again, quickly change hands. the piont is to remain with the body, defend with the body, but not let it effect the position of tanden

defense is done by the middle of the forearms. it are seperate defenses occuring together simultaneous
Kaisetsu:
defend chudan zuki
Move:
12
Technique:
tsuki-uke chudan
Tachikata:
zenkutsu dachi

like move 11. at 10: upward, 11: downward, 12: forward movement,

defend from chudan zuki, by using inasu principle. Use the twisting motion of the tsuki to deflect the attack and
Move:
13
Technique:
junzuki
Tachikata:
zenkutsu dachi

Move:
14
Technique:
gedan barai
Tachikata:
shiko dachi

strong defense by correct bodymovement
Note:
don't change height. pull the body and then turn. if you turn on the spot you might be hit in case of attack. by pulling the body first it suggests avoidence
Kaisetsu:
defend from maegeri
Move:
15
Technique:
chudan barai
Tachikata:
shizentai
Objective:
rising, withdraw, defend - move as one
Note:
the rising of the body is done because of the power generated. also, this increases the distance from the opponent, thus, avoid the attack.
Kaisetsu:
defend from chudan zuki
Move:
16
Technique:
enpi
Tachikata:
zenkutsu dachi

Kaisetsu:
defend from jodan zuki
Move:
18
Technique:
jodan ura zuki
Tachikata:
kokutsu dachi
Objective:
apart from taisabaki and nagashi incorporated in this movement, it is a form of strategy. It is to put the enemies to one's side. So refer to this movement as bodypositioning
Note:
the left foot should be pointing slightly to the right, maintain balance. wadoryu kokutsu dachi is not just a "back stance" it is correct bodypositioning. in this case, maintain the centre of gravity, to observe the ma-ai of the enemy behind you (now at your side) and to be tsukkomi in urazuki to use more weight in the punch. Also, this movement is like nagashizuki and think of kihon gumite ipponme.
Kaisetsu:
strike the enemy in the face
Move:
19
Technique:
gedan juji uke
Tachikata:
tsumasaki dachi (both feet nekoashi)

Move:
20
Technique:
morote uke
Tachikata:
zenkutsu dachi
Objective:
change from tsumasaki dachi to junzuki dachi, thus 'pressing' forward
Note:
if you extend the fingers of the left fist, it should just touch the right elbow
Kaisetsu:
defend from yokomen uchi of the staff used, therefore press forward and enter ma-ai
Move:
21
Technique:
jodan soto uke - chudan barai
Tachikata:
kokutsu dachi

position the body to see the 2 enemies behind you. also position it so you can react immediately to any movement of an enemy

make sure the change of position and defenses occur together
Kaisetsu:
defend from maegeri - (strike back with the migi kamaete)
