Inasu is one of Wadoryu's most important principles. It is to deflect
the attack. It is not just to make sure the attack doesn't hit you,
but it is to hit the opponent and adjust your attack in such a way
that it will deflect the upcoming attack, hence it is attack and defense
at the same time.
Shihan Ishikawa demonstrating with Mr. Nukina. The
use of bodyshifting and inasu at the same time. The attack is deflected
by the eblow and the moment is continuous into uraken. This is one
movement. I demonstrate and explain this technique myself in the "uraken"
video. I learned this technique from Shihan Ishikawa.
Uraken
Use a minimum escape that is initiated by the attack. A fixed stance
doens't allow this, be "light" in your stance and move easily
just off centerline. Attack using uraken. The idea of inasu maybe
not very clear, but I deflect the line of attack with my elbow.
