PRINCIPLES - TECHNIQUES

nagasu

Parry the attack, or to let it pass.

Hironori Ohtsuka - Jiro Ohtsuka

Uraken - nagashizuki

Applied principles of Wadoryu Karate. Use a minimum escape that is initiated by the attack. A fixed stance doens't allow this, be "light" in your stance and move easily just off centerline. Attack using uraken. avoid the second attack using taisabaki, the hand that attacked with uraken parries the upcoming punch without power. Put all the power in the nagashizuki. make sure your knee points directly towards the opponent. the whole body must be behind the punch.

Shuto uke - Tatezuki

use taisabaki to avoid the upcoming attack. Don't parry the attack in the punches direction, but force it to the side, causing a balance problem to the side, making a gyakuzuki impossible. To parry in the same direction, may leave a possibility to follow with a second punch. counter using tatezuki, make sure the front foot and knee point to the opponent and put your whole body in one line behind the punch.
